RAID (廉价磁盘冗余阵列) 技术是提高存储子系统性能和可靠性的一种有效手段。RAID 可以由软件或硬件实现, 硬件 RAID 又可以分为主机内部硬件RAID 和主机外部硬件RAID 。硬件RAID 不依赖操作系统, 具有比软件RAID 更高的运行效率 和容错能力。主机内部硬件RAID 又比主机外部硬件RAID 具有更高的运行效率和管理能力。主机内部硬件RAID 广泛应用于 高端网络服务器中。以Mylex DAC960 PC I RAID 适配器(主机内部硬件RAID 控制器) 为例, 对主机内部硬件R
Abstract:
RAID (Inexpensive Disk Redundancy Array)technology is an ef fective means to enhance performance and reliability of storage subsystem .RAID can be implemented w ith sof tw are o r hardw are , and hardw are RAID can also be divided into host -based RAID and SCS I -SCSI RAID .Hardw are RAID is no t dependent upon operat ing system , having hig her operating ef ficiency and fault -tolerant capabili ty than softw are RAID .Host -based RAID has hig her operation eff iciency and better management capability than SCSI -to -SCSI RAID . Host -based RAID is w idely applied to hig h -end netw ork server .This paper uses My lex DAC 960 PCI RAID adapter (controller of host -based RAID)as an example to int roduce the basic concept of host -based RAID and i ts installation and conf igurat ion as well as its rebuilding af ter failure .
